Greetings Sierra Vista Family:

Welcome to the 2020-2021 school year!  I hope you are enjoying the last weeks of summer.  The first day of school is scheduled for Tuesday, August 18th and we will start remotely on-line.  As we transition to opening up the school year, I wanted to reach out and make sure we get everyone off to a good start.  As we get ready for Fall Semester, please make sure to begin the process of getting your child ready for on-line learning.

Technology

Most importantly, your child will need a device for on-line learning. All students should have their own device at home (not sharing with anyone).  If your child is in need of a device or an internet hotspot -please call 323-222-2530 to set a time for pick up.

Parent Portal

If you have not signed up for the Parent Portal- please make sure to do so as soon as possible.  This will provide important information on monitoring attendance, grades, completed assignments, and informational updates.  Go to Parent Portal to register and activate your account.

Schoology

Students will be utilizing Schoology for this year’s on-line learning.  Make sure your child has created an account and is able to get on-line  (3rd - 6th grade should already have an account from last year).  Your child will need- Student District ID, Birthdate and PIN number- if they have never created an account.  TK-2nd grade- the classroom teacher will be reaching out once their new class has been created.  Please check out this support video to help you get started:

Lastly, please follow us on Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, School Loop and now youtube (video recordings) for up to date information and resources provided on a daily basis to help support our Sierra Vista community as we transition to this new school year.
