Greetings Sierra Vista Family:

Welcome back to the 2023-2024 school year! I hope you all had a restful and enjoyable summer.  I look forward to working with all of your children this year.  We are excited to have an even better year than 2022-2023.  

We will continue all the great activities we had last year and hope to have more on campus events as the year progresses. Attendance will be a priority this upcoming year. We want to make sure our students are getting their learning everyday and are growing academically. So make sure your child is present and on-time everyday. All students should have no more than 5-7 absences in one school year.  We will have incentives for students with minimal absences and tardies, so let’s make sure we are getting everyone to school everyday.

As preliminary state exam scores are released- please be on the look-out for your child’s results in the mail.  We would like to congratulate all our students on the fantastic job they did on last year’s exam.  Preliminary data shows students increased in all categories- MATH, ELA and SCIENCE. We continue to promote our online learning platforms at home- MyON, ZEARN, and Amplify- as home resources to support learning. We will continue to have school wide incentives for students who are utilizing learning platforms at home.  

This year we will be incorporating additional field trips and arts programs throughout the school year. So be on the look-out for some great opportunities in the upcoming months for your children.  

Thank you for all you do at home to support the learning. I am excited to continue as Sierra Vista’s principal and look forward to working further in developing our young scholars into tomorrow’s leaders.  Let’s have a great year and see you all soon.
